A good article Andrew thank you and I’m sorry that you have had to defend yourself. We all know that what Simon wrote is nonsense and what a pity that he has sunk to this. Keep up the good work, it is very admirable!

Thank you. I don’t know what’s happened to him, but this is about as morally bankrupt as it gets.

Quite, I was in the audience the night he was on your show and he was very impressive. To go from that to this just defeats me! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Brilliant Andrew. So well described. And love your ending. Such a shame Simon seems to have become obsessed with believing that any disagreement with him means that we are far right. Hey ho - we are used to it from Jolyon et al but sad to see from someone who really should know us better.

Some people really have sad and empty lives and instead of trying to do something productive and worthwhile in real life spend their time in an vacuum of hate and outrage online trying to rip other people apart. Before the Internet they would have been the last drunk in the bar, gobbing off at every one how had the audacity to look vaguely happy.

Interesting, and also disconcerting article. I know Simon Edge's name from a book of his I bought a while back, which I haven't managed to read yet: The End of the World is Flat. It was very highly recommended by GC people I respect greatly, which is how I came to buy it. I also bought and read Graham Linehan's book Tough Crowd, which was very enjoyable, in which Edge is credited with the cover photo (I didn't know about the editing). What are we to make of all this? That it's purely personal against you? Maybe, but mocking people mouring Ron Liddle's death is despicable, and in the post he comes over like a progressive: someone who implores others to be kind, but doesn't display that same trait himself when the opportunity arises. All very strange. Anyway, I think your response was, as ever, very dignified and to the point. 👍

This is really very sad and awful. I really enjoyed his book, The Edge of the world is Flat. What happened to him?

God knows. But this is about as low as it gets. Proper TRA behaviour.

Supporting remigration in no way implies the remigration of legal persons. I think the manager of the bookshop was very brave and I admire her for sticking to her guns. I have never seen in my long life anything as repugnant as the brainwashed left. Nasty, cruel and cowardly, they should be ashamed. I feel the tide is turning and we must stick to our guns and stand fearless and never, ever apologise. Normal folk recognise a smear campaign. We will stand by you.
