Once more for the people at the back, Andrew. “The infantilism of activist culture has prevented many from calmly accepting the law. Trans-identified people have precisely the same rights as everyone else, and nothing about this guidance has changed that. “

Yesterday evening I sat down and read the entire EHRC guidance all 342 pages of it.

I found it balanced, compassionate and very helpful in encouraging people to look for ways for ensuring everyone got fair treatment and no one was disadvantaged, whether by age or sex or race or disability or religion of gender or motherhood or beliefs. Etc.

The examples throughout the document very helpfully illustrated how service providers could ensure fairness for everyone.

I can only conclude that these nutters who are screaming about the UK making it illegal for trans people to pee – have not actually read the document.

Stonewall appear to still be lying to people about the law and the “loss” of rights. I still don’t understand how the Charity Commission has managed to allow a Charity to behave in this manner without censure. Surely this is some kind of cultural terrorism that is really hurting society and driving people apart. It needs to stop.

Sanity restored. I just hope it doesn’t take long to return to Australia and New Zealand where judges claim adults can change sex and those of us who know that’s a lie are called bigots and Nazis.

I have friends who are trans and I have known them for over 20 years (one of them our best man). They were able to pee back then and they will continue to be able to do so without the 'activists opinion'.

So you have account to the psychiatric unit of the social media - Bluesky? I thought they allow you in only with formal diagnosis. How did you cheat them to get an account there? Make sure you don't get caught!

This all seems very well and good.

Who thought it would take this long?

However, although this seems like a win. It isn't.

Owners of businesses can decide, eg, if your local pub decides to let trans women use the toilet they may do so. If your gym owner decides to let trans women enter your changing area, they will be allowed to. Hospitals too.

Although it seems to be a success to normal people who know that you can't change sex, I do not feel anything like celebrating. I'm my opinion the government have not gone far enough, they chickened out to making it an actual law.

Is this true? Surely that's breaking the law? Unless you mean that businesses don't have the obligation to provide separate spaces if they haven't got the space (some cafes have one lavatory for all)

These “activists" are just common or garden control freaks at heart. It’s only a matter of time before they find some other hobby horse to use as a tail to wag the national dog.

How about roof insulation? Oh right, done that. General purpose scaremongering about climate change and other alleged existential threats? Stinky Rebellion had that covered… loud but vague exhortations to “stop oil”, whatever that means? Got the T-shirt, and the soup...

Although I thought that Matt Walsh's film, What Is A Woman?, was a highly-partisan hit piece, it did at least touch on some of the ideological history of the current confusion and hysteria over transgenderism. Works by authors like Magnus Hirschfeld, John Money, Robert Stoller, and Judith Butler have all been used or abused to confuse or shut down rational discourse about the relationship between biological sex and gender (identity, roles, expectations). The earliest attempt that I know of to confront this trend directly was Janice Raymond's book, The Transexual Empire.

I have something to say re Jonny Willoughby’s ‘Labour Killing Trans’ scrawl on his pasty arms (which any real woman would decry as a waste of good lipstick): “Oi, Labour! You missed one…”. Seriously, who in their right mind (not Himdia or Bigfoot Euan AKA “Sophie Molly” obvs) thinks this policy is killing people? Churning out constant abuse, scare tactics and hyperbole must be exhausting if nothing else. PS “Sophie Molly”, do eff off. Radar keys should only be for the genuinely disabled, not hulking blokes who need to adjust their gentlemen’s vegetables in their lacy knickers🤢. I’m physically disabled and cannot use regular public toilets. I’d be livid if one of these law-defying idiots made me pee myself…
