If a woman went to work dressed like that she’d be disciplined and people would be able to complain without the risk of being called a bigot. He must know this and so I can only assume that he is trolling us, laughing at us and mocking women and the authorities. He is the walking epitome of misogyny. What also concerns me is the affect of his appearance on children. How would you explain that to a child and why should we have to? I’m afraid that he only deserves ridicule and I hope that the students provide him with some.

You're right in about six different ways. But in a sense, a sense that is both higher and deeper than any concerns about, say, academic dress, or alleged "tolerance", this is a kind of personification of an existential cosmic disaster. This is not just about Oxford and standards and kids, is it, somehow? It's a kind of thumbing the nose at reality itself, at biology and history and genuine psychology, at the binary fundamentals of the universe (not just male/female but order/chaos). It isn't even insane, it's worse than that.

Completely agree. I’ve used the word insane countless times over the past few years but it is worse than that. It’s a destruction of normality, a destroying of boundaries, binaries and truth all done in order to ‘queer’ society. Most of the queer theorists were Marxists and so much of queer theory is based on the oppressor/ oppressed narrative meaning that all binaries such as male/female, adult/child need to be destroyed. What I’d love to know is what they intend to replace normality with. If this chap is a glimpse of their utopia, I’ll pass thank you.

If gender reassignment is his case, then the beard is going to need a bit of debate, though he might argue women post menopause can often be plagued by chin hairs - it's a stretch!
