One of your greats of stage and screen summed up the situation that bedevils all of our Western societies. He meant it for not only the crushing stultifying outcomes of DEI in his field but the whole of governance and power in the country...." I am made numb by the endless pursuit and advancement of the mediocre in this country"
A country that made Britain Great & was the envy of the world for its comedy - it’s irreverence has fallen into the laps of authoritarian individuals who are exactly the same people who political dissidents risked their lives escaping from because Great British was a beacon of hope. It’s horrifying to see the authoritarian ignorance as these young people & antisemites have let the barbarians & the hard left in. They have no idea why driving Graham & Andrew out of the UK is so catastrophic all I can suggest is if you can afford it join the Free Speech Union & look up Rupert Lowe & Ben Habib being interviewed by Peter McCormack - they’re worth listening to because we need parliament to see the issues people really care about - no more being the silent majority - sign the petitions help build a parallel justice system - if the government & the Mayors aren’t looking out for the people then the people need to let them know that they’re not going to allow themselves to be ignored any more - violence is not the solution - but making it clear that we don’t want sharia law will eventually make MPs understand that the people are back & they know what they want & censoring comedy isn’t acceptable
There aren't many things more joyful, liberating and life-affirming than a hearty belly laugh. I can still remember the buzz on the factory floor the morning after Rik Mayall's appearance in Blackadder or the start of the second series of Fawlty Towers. We all desperately need the therapy of laughter, especially our stressed-out youngers. But they've been robbed of it, largely. I agree with Simon Evans who blames the BBC for betraying the nation, betraying the right and betraying their legacy of fostering new comedy.
C'mon Andrew, describing Jo Brand as a comedian is pushing the use of the word a bit too far....
Careful, you make jokes like that and you might get cancelled...

Thanks as ever, Andrew. Really shocked about the Jewish comedians at Edinburgh!
